Lobethal bierhaus
Creme brulee sweet dessert ale

Aug 2015
The Beer & BBQ Festival in July was a great event for the local breweries, with many new beers being released for the event. The Lobethal Bierhaus created a great new beer for the event named Creme Brulee Sweet Dessert Ale. The reviews for the beer were fantastic, and luckily Alistair made the decision to bottle the beer for a limited time release.

The Creme Brulee is the Bierhaus's take on the Southern Tier Brewery's Creme Brulee, one of the highest rated beers in the world. While not exactly the same, i believe Alistair has done a great job and is well worth hunting out before it is gone forever.

Style - Milk / Sweet Stout
Strength - 8%
Size - 330mL Bottles & Draught
Colour - Black in colour.
Aroma - Roasted flavours, with burnt toffee, bourbon and vanilla.
Malt - Very sweet toffee, toasted vanilla pudding.
Hops - Very little bitterness, as you would expect for a sweet dessert ale.
Overall Taste - Very sweet, almost like the old Tarax Creamy Soda, but more grown-up.
Overall - A fantastic sweet dessert beer. It is not a beer you do a session on, but great accompanied with a vanilla ice-cream or a Crème Brulee.
