Henry Noltenius arrived in South Australia in 1843, He went into partnership with William Knox Simms in 1856 at the Halifax Street Brewery. The partnership between Henry Noltenius and Mr Simms was dissolved my mutual consent in 1858, and Mr Noltenius and his brother Bernhard A Noltenius became a wine, Spirit merchants and beer bottlers. In 1868 Henry started to bottle West End Ales for his previous business partner Mr. William Simms. Bottling West End beer was short lived and Albert Chapman was contracted to bottle for the West End brewery. Henry and Bernhard both operated as wine, Spirit merchants and beer bottling business. Henry died in 1884 and Bernhard continued until around 1890. |
