Henry Nankervis moved to Kadina after the town first opened and established the Kadina Hotel in 1861, soon after Nankervis built a distillery and a brewery. Henry operated the brewery until 1864 when the brewery was leased by Edward Hughes. The brewery was put up for sale in 1873 and then eventually sold to Richard Hazelgrove in 1874. Richard was also the publican at the Kadina Hotel, and James Thomson was hired to operate the brewery. The brewery was closed in 1877. |
