George Clark arrived in Port MacDonnell in 1860 where he setup a brewery, in the new township. George brewed with the assistance of his son until 1865 when the brewery was sold to Robert Anderson and George Sharp. Sharp and Anderson also leased the West End brewery in Mount Gambier and they operated both breweries, with Roberts brother Walter managing the Port MacDonnell Brewery. George Sharp retired in 1873 and the brewery was sold, the site was later used as a tannery. |
