History of bottled draught beer in sa
By : Beer Adelaide
Aug 2015
Bottled beer has always been very popular in SA with some breweries including Coopers not selling any draught beer at all until the 1980s. There was even a large trade in bottling companies that purchased cask beer from breweries, which they bottled and sold under their own name.

However, by the beginning of the twentieth century this had all changed with most of the breweries in the state either had closed or had amalgamated. The main breweries, The South Australian Brewing Company and the Walkerville Co-Operative Brewing Company had been selling bottled beer in vast quantities without any shortages.

Big shed brewing concern
Kol schisel
By : Beer Adelaide
Aug 2015
The latest core beer for Big Shed Brewing has just been released in bottles.
Kol Schisel is a Kolsch style beer that is easy drinking.

It is nice to see Big Shed Brewing start to bottle in 330mL bottles. As someone who loves big bold beers, sometimes 640mL of a 11% imperial style stout can be a little too much. Hopefully they start to bottle all their beers in the smaller bottles.

Golden stout time
By : Beer Adelaide
Aug 2015
Next in line of sweet dessert beers is Big Shed Brewing's Golden stout time. This beer was originally brewed for the 2015 GABS festival and was rated 3rd in peoples choice at the festival (Even though it polled number one on untappd).

The inspiration for this stout is a Streets Golden Gay Time ice-cream, and from the first smell you can tell they have really succeeded.

Lobethal bierhaus
Creme brulee sweet dessert ale
By : Beer Adelaide
Aug 2015
The Beer & BBQ Festival in July was a great event for the local breweries, with many new beers being released for the event. The Lobethal Bierhaus created a great new beer for the event named Creme Brulee Sweet Dessert Ale. The reviews for the beer were fantastic, and luckily Alistair made the decision to bottle the beer for a limited time release.

The Creme Brulee is the Bierhaus's take on the Southern Tier Brewery's Creme Brulee, one of the highest rated beers in the world. While not exactly the same, i believe Alistair has done a great job and is well worth hunting out before it is gone forever.
