| Grumpy's Brewhaus started in the late 1990s as a homebrew shop located in the Adelaide Hills, but after installing a commercial brewery at new premises in Verdun late in 2001, The brew equipment was a second-hand plant from New Zealand which produced its first beer at its new Verdun home early in 2002. The business became increasingly focussed on beer production, and sales at the associated bar and restaurant. Home brew supplies slowly became a small part of the business and was eventually dropped. The company progressed slowly over the next 15 years but by the mid 2010s bottled beer was available. Unfortunately a fire gutted the main building in 2016, though the brewery was untouched, the company closed. The site and brewery was sold in 2021 and is now being used by Grunthal Brewing |
