Albion E Tolley started a wine and spirit company in 1858. In 1877 Albion became the bottler for Haussen & Co.'s Hindmarsh Brewery, when Robert Strutton started the Kangaroo Brewery. Tolley would later purchase part of the South Australian Brewing, Malting and Wine and Spirit company's wine and spirit business. Tolley would later purchase the Clare brewery in 1912.
