In several newspaper reports in 1879, there is mentions of a brewery being constructed in the new township of Farina Town. But unfortunately, by 1883 the brewery was put up for sale, along with an aerated waters machine. The brewery closed due to water shortages and the proprietor having to cart water to the brewery.
