In October 1933, Christopher Cooper and Roy Crabb attempted to establish a small brewery in Glenelg. Cooper, a trained brewer and grandson of Thomas Cooper, handled production, while Roy Frederick Crabb managed the business. A brewer’s licence was granted, allowing them to brew and sell limited quantities of beer, and early batches were successfully produced. However, the United Licensed Victuallers Association strongly opposed the licence and ultimately succeeded in having it revoked in 1935, bringing the venture to an end. Despite its brief life, the brewery did release several batches of beer, and a number of original full bottles have survived and are still known to exist today.
