Adelaide Brewery

Adelaide Hotel Brewery

John Auld and John Shand owned the Torrens Brewery in 1839, and in 1841 they started to distribute their beers through their hotel on Hindley Street. A brewery was constructed at the hotel and in 1845 the hotel and brewery was being used by John Aulds brother Thomas Auld. Thomas lasted less than a year here. After selling the company, the brewery closed and the hotel was renamed to the Foundry Hotel.
