Victoria Brewery

Edward Clark constructed a small brewery in 1888 on Holland street Adelaide, just off King William street, near Sturt street. Edward sold the brewery in 1889 and it had several owners over the next 6 years until eventually Frank Grenville purchased the site in 1895 and went about improving the brewery. The Holland Street site quickly became too small for Grenville and a new brewery was built on Sturt street around the corner from Holland street. The new brewery was operational by 1901 and the company continued to successfully brew small batches of beer. Frank died in 1915 in a horse and cart accident and the brewery closed in 1919
