MOUNT BARKER INN

Gloag’s 'Mount Barker Inn,' constructed in 1842 on Cameron Street, was one of the first stone buildings in Mount Barker. However, publican John Gloag may have been running an inn at the site as early as 1839. Later, in 1849, Gloag opened the Crown Inn on Hutchinson Street, which still stands today and now serves as the home of the RSL.
