| Brightstar Brewing is a small independent craft brewery established in Thebarton, an inner-west suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. Operating during the expansion of the state’s craft beer industry in the 2020s, the brewery formed part of the growing concentration of independent breweries that developed throughout Adelaide’s former industrial suburbs. Thebarton had long been associated with manufacturing, engineering and food production, making it a natural location for small-scale brewing operations during the craft beer revival. Situated close to the Adelaide city centre, Brightstar Brewing benefited from the growing popularity of inner-urban brewery venues and locally produced independent beer. Although relatively small in scale, Brightstar Brewing has contributed to the broader development of Adelaide’s independent beer scene and reflected the enthusiasm and experimentation that characterised South Australia’s modern craft brewing movement. Like many boutique breweries, the business relies heavily on local support, direct sales and the growing interest in fresh locally brewed craft beer.   |
