In 1878 Mr William May was contracted by the Lion Brewing and Malting company to bottle ale and stout for retail sale. In 1883 Mr. R. McGowan took over the company and by 1885 Mr. Robert Tilley from the Hyde Park brewery became the manager of the Lion Bottling Company. The Lion Brewery installed their own bottling plant in 1892 and the brewery ceased using the Lion Bottling Company.		Lion Bottling Company R. McGowan & Co.
