George Hickox, born in 1806. An 1852 council assessment records him as the occupier of a "Three-room brick house with brick brewery and stable" located on Rosina Street, off Hindley Street, Adelaide, on Town Acre 73. The following year, he was listed as a cordial maker. Despite facing insolvency in 1856, he resumed his profession as a cordial maker by 1862, operating from Flinders Street, Adelaide. At the time of his death in January 1866, he was recorded as an aerated waters manufacturer on Gouger Street, Adelaide. |
