Henry Bees arrived in Adelaide in 1844, initially working as a labourer. By 1854, he was listed as a soda water maker. He operated from various locations in Adelaide, including Grote Street and Gilles Arcade, in partnership with his father-in-law, Benjamin T. Moore. Bees briefly held a license for the Fountain Inn from 1874 to 1875, but by 1875, he was no longer listed as an aerated water manufacturer. He later became the licensee of the East Adelaide Hotel until his death in 1877.
