P.G. Bennett started his aerated water and cordial business in 1883 at Ward Street, North Adelaide, likely taking over from J.G. Lewin and E. Crittenden. He briefly partnered with Thomas Hooper before operating alone. Another partnership with Ebenezer Hastwell formed "P.G. Bennett & Co." in 1885. Bennett held the lease until 1891 and had a depot in Port Adelaide by 1895, exporting to Western Australia. He became insolvent in 1895 and was listed as a cordial manufacturer until his death in 1897. The business continued for two more years at Taylor's former Red Heart Ale factory in Wakefield Street, Adelaide.
