From January 9, 1851, to 1854, Geo. Bennett held the license for the Cornish Arms Hotel, or the Ancient Briton Hotel, on lot 256 Kooringa Redruth. By 1855, he had moved to Opies Hotel on Main Rd. Aberdeen. Bennett's ginger beer brewery was adjacent to the Miner's Arms Hotel, now the Burra Hotel, in Market Square. Additionally, in 1869-1870, he was recorded as both a hotel keeper and brewer at the Royal Exchange Hotel.
