In 1884, George Pitt established an Aerated Water Manufacturer & Ice Works on Young Street in Port Augusta. Notably, he advertised his presence in both Port Pirie and Port Augusta that same year. Pitt registered his "SUNNY" trademark in 1907 and in early 1908, he placed an order for 3,600 ginger beer bottles from Bendigo Pottery. By 1927, his son Spencer Pitt took over the business, and from 1940 to 1952, it operated under the name Pitt & Sons.
