H. H. Tandy opened a Confectionery factory and Cafe in Gawler Place in 1920, the Cafe closed in the early 1920s, but the manufacture of drinks continued into the 1930s when the company concentrated on sweets and lollies. The company continued at Gawler Place until 1948 when a new building was built on Angus Street. Company was sold to Life Savers in 1968.
